The question I hear more than any other is: "How am I going to be protected? How can I trust this?" It's the right question. So I want to answer it plainly, right here.
I did not build Rent-A-Boo for anyone to feel unsafe. The whole point of Rent-A-Boo is for people to feel safe, to feel welcome, to feel loved — to have someone by their side at the very moment they feel alone. So the last thing I ever want is for someone to feel scared to use a place that was made to make them feel good.
I'll be honest with you, because you deserve honesty: no company can control the actions of another person. But I promise you we are doing everything in our power to protect every person who walks through our doors. And as we scale and grow, we will keep adding more.
The Boo and the Renter matter equally
For our Boos
Every Boo goes through ID verification and a background check with Checkr before ever meeting anyone, plus an interview, orientation and training.
For our Renters
Every Renter verifies their ID through Stripe today. As we grow, Renters will also go through background checks with Checkr.
How we protect you
The 5-digit meeting PIN
When you arrive, both of you enter your 5-digit PIN. Nothing starts — not the date, not the clock — until both PINs match. You know the person in front of you is the person you booked.
Public venues only
Restaurants, galleries, events, out in the open. No homes or houses — unless the event itself is hosted there.
Live location tracking
While a date is live, location is shared with consent so our team always knows where you are.
Live session timer
The clock starts only after both PINs, and both people can see it. No guesswork, no surprises.
One-tap SOS with voice recording
If something feels wrong, one tap reaches our team and starts a voice recording. You are never alone in the room.
Your own ride, always
Boos arrive and leave in their own transportation. No one rides in another person's car.
Clear minds, composed company
Illegal drugs are never allowed before or during a session. Social drinking must stay responsible and within your limits — no impairment or intoxication, for Renters or Boos.
Zero tolerance: child protection & human trafficking
Rent-A-Boo is 100% platonic and adults-only (18+). We follow child protection and anti-human-trafficking laws, and we hold ourselves to them without exception.
- No nudity, sexual, or solicited photos — ever.
- No images or content involving a child, of any kind.
- No solicitation, and no buying or selling of anything beyond a platonic plus-one.
- Violations mean immediate removal, and we report to law enforcement.
If you ever see something that isn't right, tell Boo Care right away. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
We can't do everything — but everything we can do, we will. You are safe with us, you are welcome here, and you will never have to go solo.
